Community Involvement

Wharton Health Experience

The Wharton Center for Recovery, Performance, and Longevity will open on May 23rd. Three members of Run Flagstaff will be working at The Wharton Center in Flagstaff. The center will assist a broad demographic of persons from the young athlete with muscular injuries, conditions, or imbalances to persons suffering from muscular injuries, recreational athletes, professional athletes, and the elderly. Wharton Health Programs include: assisted flexibility, joint integrity strengthening, massage/recovery therapy, performance fuel consultations, and endurance training.


The Wharton Health Team has been conducting workshops and seminars in the Flagstaff and Sedona Community for the past two years. Some of the workshops include:

The Sedona Marathon

Wharton Health was featured in the Sedona Magazine, Kudos Newspaper, AZTV, and the Flagstaff Sedona Station with interviews for the pre-race workshop. More info on the Sedona Marathon at www.sedonamarathon.com.


Team Altius

Local running club coached by the legendary Jack Daniels. Wharton Heath provides the club with the injury prevention and recovery seminar series.


Hospice Training Team

Wharton provides seminars on flexibility for their athletes preparing for their local 5 and 10k in July.



The Flagstaff Running School

The Running School started in upstate New York thirty seven years ago. The Whartons' have been providing injury prevention workshops for the week of camp for the past sixteen years, The Running School attracts over five hundred high school athletes and their coaches from the northeast region. This is the 1st annual Running School in Flagstaff. Run Flagstaff athletes that are not committed to other races will assist in this camp. The Running School provides a unique experience to learn from some of the best athletes and coaches in the world. Flotrack will be filming again this year. The Flagstaff Running School is currently not sponsored. The high school section will be July 13-17 and the adults will be July 17-20th.
